From Garage Builds to Record Breakers — Racing is in Our Blood

Our family's story with cars began in 1955, when my father—still in high school—customized a 1949 Mercury by hand. A year after graduation, he made history by winning the very first Pomona National Drag Race behind the wheel of his 1956 A-Stock Two Door. That moment didn’t just mark a victory — it lit the spark of a legacy.

In 1974, AVC Racing was born. We started with BMX and quickly moved into Motocross and Micro Midgets. Back then, racing wasn’t about million-dollar shops — it was about passion, grit, and a garage in the San Gabriel Valley where my father and I spent late nights building USAC Midgets, street machines, and track cars from the ground up.

For 15 years, I had the honor of driving for owners, sponsors, and my father — chasing checkered flags while building memories. But nothing compares to this new chapter: watching my own son step into the driver’s seat.

We launched JTC MOTORSPORTS in 1998, going back to our roots with renewed fire. James Jr. followed the family line at full speed — winning three National BMX Championships by the age of six. It was clear: the legacy wasn’t just alive, it was evolving.

Since 2012, JTC MOTORSPORTS has specialized in Gen 1 Camaros, Tri-Fives, vintage classics, custom builds, drag cars, off-road rigs, and drift beasts. Whether it’s on the track or in the shop, we bring the same heart to every build: family-built, competition-proven, and never content to slow down.
